Hi, I’m Kalyn! I’m the “K” in “K & Eve”. Growing up, family, friends & teammates called me “KK” and over the years it’s been shortened to “K”. I have always, from my earliest memories, been an artist. That can be a hard title to claim - because “Creativity takes courage” ~ Henri Matisse. I have had various roles in my life: athlete, teacher, wife, mom, daughter, sister, friend, follower of Jesus…and I’m also an artist.

So who is “Eve”? My Grandma Evelyn. She is Eve. I loved my grandma and I miss her. One of our last interactions occurred while I was visiting her in the hospital. A nurse came in and she introduced me, saying, “This is my granddaughter and she’s an artist.” That was it. Such a simple explanation and yet she called forth something she saw in me. By way of honoring her and who she saw me to be, and as a nod to others who have encouraged and inspired me, I present to you, “K & Eve.”

I have had the joy & privilege of engaging in art & education in numerous ways. After completing an Undergraduate Degree in English & a minor in Visual Arts from the University of Northern Colorado, I embarked on a teaching journey, receiving my Education Degree in Art from Westminster University. Teaching in public & private schools in various capacities over many years, I am excited to invite students into my studio for a variety of classes and numerous creative opportunities.
